Innovate Raleigh, AT&T + NC Open Pass partner for First Responder HACKATHON

We are excited to announce our partnership with AT&T and NC Open Pass in an program that will support the needs of the first responder community. This initiative will kick-off with two Design Thinking Sessions for emergency services personnel, followed by a series of NC Open Pass events this fall. The program will support first responders and leverage our growing civic tech community to provide solutions to their challenges and serve the community’s needs.  The initiative will highlight AT&T’s FirstNet program.

First responders from across the state have been invited to participate in one of two Design Thinking Sessions that will explore challenges and solutions faced by emergency services personnel.  Ideas from the sessions will be the focus for the NC Open Pass National Day of Civic Hacking as well as the group's hackathon.  Teams formed during the hackathon will begin a seven week design sprint to build a scalable startup and will pitch their product at the NC Open Pass DataPalooza on November 8.  The winner will be included in our 2018 Innovate Raleigh Summit event programming the following day.

By combining the core competencies of stakeholders, technologists, and community members, we hope to improve the quality of life in our community and provide technology-based solutions to challenges faced by first responders.
